For example, when you say "serial", do you mean RS-232 serial, or one of the thousands of other serial protocols out there? Is it possible to get the data-sheet from which you got the info on the serial protocol? How about the make/model of the reader, at least? Also, what exactly do you want to know about the process? Are you having trouble with the hardware side, the software side, or something else? We really need more information to answer this.
