What is your opinion on the recent use of RFID trackers in school systems?

I think it’s a horrible idea. RFID chips on school uniforms is incredibly invasive, and it is very easily foiled to boot. I am a student myself and I would take this to be a serious insult on my maturity and judgement.

What are they going to do next, install microphone surveillance bugs on our foreheads? Maybe they should put security cameras in the shower rooms while they’re at it!

I swear, privacy is going straight down the toilet in our society.

RFID tags are only "understood" in the system in which they are commissioned. If the school puts commissioned tags in school uniforms and safeguards access to their data than everything is fine because the school is responsible for the people while they are at school.

This RFID system is only an automated version of taking attendance.
The centralized student information is the same as centralized student records.
There is only a little change here.
