Do the newer designed Texas Drivers Licences have a RFID chip in them?
Some states are implementing this chip inside "real ID’s" called and RFID chip. The Texas licence was re designed and has "new security features" but they arent discussed publicly. Do you think the new drivers licences have the RFID chip in them?

Some states are sharing photographs of the drivers so that computers with face recognition abilities can track down criminals. This has been done successfully. This chip may be connected to that system.
In some states, it is possible to get a chip in the license which is equivalent to a passport.
I do not know if this is the case in Texas.
The new security features may also make it more difficult to counterfeit a license.
